Looks like a variation on the Charleston. Incredibly rare clip, most likely a short-subject reel seen only in French theaters. This surfaced a few years ago as part of a rather snide British docu about fame and celebrities. When Miss Baker burst upon the stage of the Theatre des Champs-Elysees in ''La Revue Negre'' in Paris in 1925, it was the highly sexual nature of her dancing with a black partner, Joe Alex, and her Josephine Baker, original name Freda Josephine McDonald, (born June 3, 1906, St. Louis, Missouri, U.S.—died April 12, 1975, Paris, France), American-born French dancer and singer who symbolized the beauty and vitality of Black American culture, which took Paris by storm in the 1920s.
